Romy Petrick - Sopran

 

The Soprano Romy Petrick made her successful debut at the Dresden Semperoper in 2008 under the batton of Jonathan Darlington in the world premiere of Manfred Trojahns opera "La grande magia".

 

In 2009 she became a member of the Dresden Semperoper, where she is performing roles like Blonde in Mozarts “The Abduction from the Seraglio”, Gretel in “Hänsel and Gretel”, Musetta in “La Bohème”, Adele in “The bat”, Nanetta in “Falstaff”, Susanna in Mozarts “Le nozze di Figaro”, Zerbinetta in “Ariadne  on Naxos” and Fiakermilli in Richard Strauss` “Arabella”. She also sang Blonde at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar and Theater Erfurt. 2011 she made her debut at De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam as one of the main roles in Manfred Trojahns world premiere "Orest" under the batton of Marc Albrecht. She also worked with conductors like Christian Thielemann, Asher Fisch, Julia Jones and Hans-Christoph Rademann.

2015 she is performing Gilda in Verdis “Rigoletto” as a guest artist at Theater Erfurt and Ännchen in Webers “The free-shooter” during the festival “Domstufenfestspiele”.

 

Born in Germany, she studied at the university "Carl Maria von Weber" Dresden, where she made a brilliant exam in 2007. She trained "Lied" with Olaf Bär and interpretation of old music with Andreas Scholl at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. 2006 she got the "Carl Maria von Weber-Scholarship" and 2009 she was one of the finalist at the "Cantilena-Competition" in Bayreuth.  

         

A sought-after concert artist, Romy’s recent engagements include performances with orchestras like Staatskapelle Dresden and Virtuosi Saxoniae. She has made concerts at the Frauenkirche Dresden, Concert hall Berlin and the Konzerthaus Berlin. In 2011 a CD with songs of great german composers was published. 2013 she performed Wagners "Wesendonck-Lieder" with the Korean Symphony Orchestra in Seoul under the button of Hee-Chuhn Choi.
